About Hannah's Hope
During the unthinkable time, as a family we realised what was missing from the care we received. We knew there needed to be a safe space for teenagers and young adults, to rest, take a breath and recuperate from the exhaustion of constant hospital appointments, surgery and treatment. Within peaceful surroundings and submerged in nature.
Respite, time together a well-deserved break away from our reality.
This is what Hannah’s Hope offers families going through the same devastation and unthinkable trauma.
We began fundraising in march 2024 and registered as a charity in April 2024 to secure a lodge on Mercia Marina, the chosen location for the Retreat.
In August 2024 we had the fantastic opportunity to open up a shop on Mercia Marina. We received an incredible amount of support in visitors, donations and people’s kindness.
Along with fundraising, the shop, supporters, events and Grants we were able to raise an extraordinary £180,000 before closing the shop in January 2025, not yet enough to order the lodge, but we were almost there…. So we continued to do more events, car boot sales, quiz nights, raffles, tombola’s, coffee mornings and a Swimathon at Repton School with Adam Peaty.
Incredible Achievement
In March 2024, Hannah finally sat down, raised her pen and signed for the Lodge purchase… An incredible achievement and her vision has since become a reality!
We are grateful every day that we get to work together for this cause which is so close to each one of the trustees’ hearts.
