Here’s a beautiful little story we just have to share…
Back when we had our shop at Mercia Marina, a very lovely lady named Jane Parker popped in for a browse. As often happens in a setting like that, a casual chat soon turned into something much more meaningful.
It turned out Jane is one half of the incredible team behind Martin & Parker, known for their stunning handcrafted furniture. After our conversation, she stepped outside to make a quick phone call… then came bundling back in with the most amazing offer:
A made-to-measure sofa for our lodge, designed by us, in our choice of fabric, tailored perfectly to suit our space. We were absolutely blown away. Utterly and completely. One of those rare moments where someone’s kindness leaves you completely speechless.
On 27th August, we visited Martin & Parker’s showroom to choose the style and colour that would suit the lodge. The whole experience was an absolute joy, the kind that makes you feel like more than just a customer.
And today… it arrived.
It honestly felt like Christmas morning!
The sofa is everything we hoped for and more, the perfect combination of comfort, quality and style. It’s added such a cosy, welcoming feel to the retreat. We’re still pinching ourselves that this actually happened.
